As economic struggles continue to rock America, some cities are experiencing inflation rates that haven’t been seen in years. This has hit the residents and local businesses hard and, in many cases, has created more city problems. In this article, we will look at 18 American cities that, mainly due to inflation, are economically troubled.

Los Angeles, CA

Located in California, Los Angeles is a sprawling metropolis with a diverse population. Inflationary pressures have hit hard in Los Angeles, especially in its housing market. The cost of living, including rent and homes, has shot up, requiring citizens to spend a significant portion of their income on what would otherwise be considered necessities. 

New York City, NY

New York City is the epitome of the American dream, with a gross imbalance of inflation in its lower-income residents. The city’s increasing costs for things such as housing, cost of living, etc., widen the gap between those who are rich and those who are struggling. The lower counterparts of New York City have a wide variety of jobs as the city is populated with persons in the service industry and starving artists.

Located right in the Midwest, Chicago is in the fight of its economic life against serious inflation issues like housing. Rents and home sale prices have been skyrocketing, and this is creating added pressure on families and those who are more in the moderate-income bracket.

The technological hub of the world where technology and innovation meet is attracting big tech industry companies, causing a money flux and making it a lonely island where only high-income industry employees can afford to live. Adding to these startling facts, we go on to find, and this being the most exciting part of it all, even those same employees are failing to afford housing.
