But recently, it has been labeled as the biggest blot on the landscape, which is the once pristine reputation of the place. With the growing economic decline and municipal decay the city has been battling in the last decades, Atlantic City has become a haven for crime, a ruin of urbanity, and a big bore.
Orlando, Florida
When most people think of Orlando, Florida, the first thing that comes to mind is Walt Disney World. There is much more to Orlando, starting with the theme parks Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, MGM Studios, Animal Kingdom, Sea World, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, and Busch Gardens. The weather is the one reason millions of people come to Orlando every year. The summer highs usually are in the low to mid-90s, and winter is generally between 50 and 70 degrees. The only problem is the rain. What it comes down to is how brave are you. Do you think you will like hot weather, but humid or do you want to walk around in shorts and a T-shirt? Do you like little rain in the summer but will have rain all school year, or do you want a lot of rain in the summer and have like no rain while in school?
Gatlinburg, Tennessee
Gatlinburg, Tennessee, is a famous tourist town in the Great Smoky Mountains. Many people travel to Gatlinburg for the town’s beautiful attractions, scenic beauty, and the many opportunities for outdoor activities. If you like all this, then Gatlinburg, Tennessee, might be for you, but if you want a more peaceful, low-key mountain experience, Gatlinburg is not so hot. Most of Gatlinburg is commercialized, with hotels lining every street, and the roads are always packed with cars. The town is flooded with kitschy attractions such as five mini golf courses, earthquake rides, and other attractions that aren’t located in or near the city and take that overall country feel away.
Niagara Falls
Niagara Falls is up there with the most awe-inspiring places people have ever been. The Falls are divided between three spots – one in New York and two in Canada – and amount to an astonishing 6m cu ft of water pouring down an enormous limestone and basalt ridge. But, it can be very crowded and touristy.
Daytona Beach
Known as a beach town and home to the Daytona 500, the Daytona Beach area includes not just Daytona itself but also Ormond and other suburbs. Along with the beach, this may attract visitors for “Spring Break” but can dissuade others in search of a quieter beachfront with neighborhoods with minor crime and a little run-down aspect.
Branson, Missouri
If you’re looking for shows, it’s hard to beat Branson, with 50 theaters and 60,000 theater seats. The city goes all in on shows, billing itself as the “Live Entertainment Capital of the World.” While shows used to be the main attraction, Branson has added several new rides and attractions, including several at the top of our list. Branson knows how to do shows, but most of them don’t have a lot of appeal to families. Several shows are designed for older generations. Hip young adults probably should just look elsewhere.
